Verification of SS and SSI Benefits
Recently, the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) analyzed the Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP) Housing Quality Standards (HQS) Inspections at several Public Housing Authorities in HUD Region III. OIG conducted audits to ensure the PHAs were sufficiently inspecting units in accordance with HUD requirements, and at the very least meeting minimum housing quality standards.
Five of the audits were reviewed by the Philadelphia Regional HUD Office and they have published the most common deficiencies found in many units. This information can be used by all PHAs to assist with HQS inspections.
